Holiday Shores, Edwardsville, IL

Fall 2025

After years of sediment buildup, SES removed 16,000 cubic yards to increase water depth down to the original hard bottom to add depth for the ski team. The photo below shows an excavator removing sediment and loading into our Morooka Low Ground Pressure swamp truck to traverse the soft soil to move materials across large areas efficiently.

Overview of a Successful Small Dredging Job

August 2017

The video below shows the steps taken during a hydraulic dredging project. This hydraulic dredging project was completed in August 2017 in Swansea, IL. We removed close to 10,000 cubic yards of sediment from three coves. The sediment was pumped into 60′ x 200′-foot dewatering tubes. Polymers were used to flocculate the slurry before it entered the bags to increase the speed of dewatering. The amphibious excavator was used to remove sediment from around the docks and seawall where the hydraulic dredge would have difficulty maneuvering.

Lake Dredging in Swansea

August 2017

The photos below illustrate a lake dredging project we completed in Swansea, IL. We removed around 8,000 cubic yards of muck from three coves using our H&H hydraulic dredge and Aquarius amphibious excavator. The materials were pumped into 60-foot diameter x 200-foot long dewatering bags. We also welded 2,000 feet of 6-inch HDPE pipe in the dewatering area.

Wisconsin Firebreak Maintenance

Spring 2017

Our crew cleared about 30 acres of brush and trees in Wisconsin this spring. As part of the project, we scarified 90 acres of firebreaks. We added a Marshall tree saw to our equipment inventory this year, and it works great and really helps with production in felling large-diameter trees.

O'Fallon Sportsmen's Club

August 2017

We removed sediment from two ponds at the O’Fallon Sportsmen’s Club. Using the Caterpillar 324 long reach excavator, operator Kerry was able to sling the muck up on shore to dewater it.

Frontenac Pond Cleaning

August 2017

We cleaned out a small residential pond in Frontenac. We loaded the mud straight into trucks instead of letting it dewater in the yard, and thanks to MK Trucking for trucks with tight tailgates, we didn’t have any cleanup to do in the streets.
